It’s been a pretty huge year for Rita Ora.
Between posing topless for British GQ, securing a role in the highly anticipated “50 Shades of Grey” movie and landing herself on countless best-dressed lists, the 23-year-old singer has catapulted to success across the board. Now, she has yet another new job to add to her resumé — Adidas shoe and clothing designer.
Women’s Wear Daily reported on Tuesday that Ora has been working with the iconic brand since September, when they approached her during New York Fashion Week. The collaboration is notable not just because of Ora’s knack for fashion, but because she is the first ever female artist to design a line for the company. Ora took to Instagram to show a sneak peek of the collection to her followers, as well.
But while the collection, which is split up into five separate, design-specific sub-collections, is greatly inspired by Ora’s personal style, it seems like at least part of the collection came truly out of necessity. Ora explained:
“I wanted people to be comfortable but be sexy at the same time. The inspiration actually for that was that I used to have these trousers with these see-through panels but they got ruined in the wash and I could never find another pair.”
The line debuts Aug. 21, and if these photos are any indication of the rest of the offerings, we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
